What about just garter stitch lengthwise, with the two browns in occasional, narrower stripes? Or of varying widths? (I'd been thinking of something similar with some stuff I have. Too many irons in the fire.)
Heather, you read my mind...needles, actually. I did that very thing. Problem was that I used big needles (13) and it really should have been 9 - 11the largest. I have not frogged it yet but I will. It looks nice, just stitches need to be tighter.

Sadly, I did not like the results so it will be frogged. :(
